Project Title: Regulatory Analysis of Movable Assets Based Lending (MABL) norms in India.
Problem: ‘World Bank’ aims to create enabling environment for MABL in India. One of the issues which needed to be examined is the identification of regulatory issues which might be coming in the way of banks and NBFC’s lending against movable assets (without additional collateral).
Solution: The Central Bank regulation having direct or indirect impact on MABL was examined and areas were identified which needed favorable changes. This was done based on examination of prevailing central bank guidelines, relevant committee reports, international best practices and interaction with senior executives from Commercial Banks, NBFC’s and Regulator.
